The Triple Crown: Paulina DiFatta’s Journey From New York To Elon To The Women’s Lacrosse League

ELON, N.C. – 661 saves. That's the mark Paulina DiFatta reached at the end of her collegiate career. A standout goalie at three different lacrosse programs, she set the single-season saves record at each stop – including Elon University.

Now, as a founding member of the Maryland Charm in the newly formed Women's Lacrosse League (WLL), DiFatta is once again breaking new ground. However, her path from the fields of New York to the sport's professional stage has been anything but ordinary.

Wrestling claims two titles, four podium finishes at Lucha Open

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell wrestling turned in a strong showing at the Lucha Open on Saturday, earning five top-four finishes, including two individual titles. Graduate student Logan Heil won the 133-pound bracket, while sophomore Pablo Macias captured the 157-pound title, as both finished the day 4-0.

Heil collected two decisions, a major decision and a tech fall on his path to the championship. His final came down to a 9-6 decision over conference foe Gardner-Webb's Leland Reeves. Macias opened his run with a first-period pin and added a tech fall before clutching a tie-breaker victory in the semifinals and a 4-3 decision in the title bout.

Graduate student Ryan Bolletino at 174 pounds and redshirt senior Conor Maslanek at 197 pounds each secured third-place finishes. Bolletino opened his day with a tech fall, added a decision and then prevailed in sudden victory to advance to the semifinals. Maslanek powered through the early rounds with back-to-back first-period pins and a dominant major decision before securing third place with a hard-fought 1-0 decision.

Sophomore Jonathan Chang rounded out Campbell's place-winners with a fourth-place finish at 149 pounds.

Overall, the Camels posted 21 wins across 33 individual matches in the Gold Division.

Wrestling continues early season slate at Lucha Open

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The 2025–26 Campbell wrestling season continues Saturday as the Fighting Camels travel to the Lucha Open, hosted by Life University. Ten Camels are slated to compete in the Gold Division across seven weight classes.

The event will be held at the Legacy Arena in Douglasville, Ga., beginning at 8 a.m. The tournament will stream live on FloWrestling, with brackets, live results and additional information also available.

Wrestling season and single match tickets on sale now

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell wrestling season and single match tickets for the 2025–26 campaign are on sale now.

Tickets can be purchased at GoCamels.com/Tickets or by calling the Athletics Ticket Office at 1-877-GO-HUMPS.

Season tickets include all six home matches and offer a value-packed opportunity for fans of the Orange and Black. General admission season tickets start at $35, while Campbell faculty and staff can purchase discounted season tickets beginning at $25. Mat side season ticket options start at $100.

Kids 12 and under receive free admission to all home events. Parking is free for all home events in the main lot behind Gore Arena.

Campbell opens its home schedule Jan. 17 with a SoCon dual against The Citadel. Other notable matchups include in-state opponents Gardner-Webb on Jan. 23 and Appalachian State on Jan. 30.

All home matches will be held in Gore Arena except for the Feb. 8 home finale against Chattanooga.

Wrestling earns first conference win, two Camels notch ranked upsets

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Campbell wrestling team earned its first conference win of the 2025–26 season Saturday at the second annual Throwdown on the Yorktown in Mount Pleasant, S.C. The Camels also faced Lander and Penn, falling in both duals.

Campbell opened the day with a 32-6 loss to Lander, who entered ranked No. 2 in the NWCA Division II preseason poll. Graduate student Logan Heil delivered the Camels' first win with a 10-6 decision at 133 pounds, and sophomore Pablo Macias added an 8-6 decision at 157.

Cross Country conclude season at NCAA Southeast Regional

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. – The Campbell University men's and women's cross country programs closed the 2025 season Friday at the NCAA Division I Southeast Regional Championships, hosted by the University of Virginia at Panorama Farms.

The trip marked Campbell's first appearance at the NCAA Southeast Regional since 2022, when Dorcus Ewoi placed 23rd overall. It was also the program's first regional showing since joining the CAA and the first appearance by a men's runner since 2021.

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Six Campbell University cross country athletes will compete at the 2025 NCAA Division I Southeast Regional Championships on Friday, Nov. 14, hosted by the University of Virginia.

The meet begins with the women's 6K at 10 a.m., followed by the men's 10K at approximately 11 a.m. Both races will take place at Panorama Farms in Charlottesville, Virginia. Parking passes are $20 and must be purchased online in advance. Live results will be available online.

Campbell wraps up Mason Duals, earns first victory of the season

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Campbell wrestling team earned its first victory of the 2025–26 season Saturday at the Mason Duals in Fairfax, Va., defeating Williams College 28-14. The Camels also faced the host, George Mason, and Bloomsburg, falling in both duals.

Redshirt freshman Colby Crouch, sophomores Ryan Phillips and Kendrick Hodge, and redshirt senior Conor Maslanek each notched two wins on the day to lead the Camels.

Wrestling prepared to face George Mason, Williams, and Bloomsburg at Mason Duals

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell wrestling heads back to Virginia for the second straight weekend on Saturday morning as the Fighting Camels compete in a quad meet at the Mason Duals, hosted by George Mason.

Campbell will face three programs, beginning with the host Patriots at 9 a.m. on Mat 1. The Camels will take on Williams College at 10:30 a.m., also on Mat 1, before wrapping up the day against Bloomsburg University at 1:30 p.m. on Mat 2.

The duals will be held at the George Mason Field House in Fairfax, Virginia. Action begins at 9 a.m. and will stream live on George Mason All-Access.

Crouch Wins 125-Pound Title as Five Camels Place at Southeast Open

SALEM, Va. – In Campbell wrestling's season-opening tournament, redshirt freshman Colby Crouch had a steller collegiate debut and claimed first place in the 125-pound division at the Southeast Open on Nov. 2.

Crouch's title highlighted a successful opener for the Fighting Camels, who saw five wrestlers place in the freshman/sophomore division at the event hosted by Virginia Tech at the Cregger Center.

Crouch went 4-0 on the day, earning three decisions and one technical fall to secure the 125-pound championship.

Four other Camels finished in the top six of their respective divisions. Sophomore Jonathan Chang advanced to the semifinals with three straight decision wins before dropping his final two matchups by major decision to place fourth at 149 pounds.

Sophomores Ryan Phillips and Kendrick Hodge battled through the consolation bracket to earn fifth-place finishes in their divisions. Sophomore Sawyer VanRider rounded out the group of Campbell place-winners, finishing sixth at 197 pounds.

Overall, 18 Camels made their season debuts, combining for 38 victories across 70 matches.

Wrestling Set to Open Season at Southeast Open

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The 2025-26 Campbell wrestling season kicks off Sunday morning as the Fighting Camels compete at the Southeast Open, hosted by Virginia Tech.

The tournament will once again be held at the Cregger Center in Salem, Va., on the campus of Roanoke College.
Action begins at 9 a.m. and will be streamed live on FloWrestling. In total, 19 Camels are set to compete across the Freshman/Sophomore and Open divisions.

Both Cross Country Teams Finish Eighth at CAA Championships

LAKEWOOD, N.J. – The Campbell University men's and women's cross country teams each finished eighth at the CAA Championships on Friday morning, Oct. 31, at Ocean County Park.

The women's squad totaled 219 points in the 6K race, while the men's team recorded 257 points in the 8K. Both programs saw multiple personal bests and several times that ranked among the top performances in program history.

The meet begins with the women's 6K at 10 a.m., followed by the men's 8K at approximately 11 a.m. Both races will be held at Ocean County Park in Lakewood, New Jersey. Live results will be available online.

The top 15 finishers will earn All-CAA honors, and the individual winner will be recognized as the Most Outstanding Performer.

Camels Close Regular Season Strong at Upstate Invitational

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Campbell University cross country teams wrapped up their 2025 regular season Saturday morning, Oct. 18, at the Upstate Invitational hosted by USC Upstate.

The women's team placed sixth in the 5K with 182 points, led by junior Emily Pierce's top-10 finish. The men's team finished ninth in the 8K with 224 points, paced by freshman Isaiah Martine's 18th-place effort. In total, the Camels recorded eight personal bests and five top-25 marks in program history.

Cross Country Set to Close Regular Season at Upstate Invitational

Buies Creek, N.C. – The Campbell University men's and women's cross country teams will wrap up their 2025 regular-season campaigns Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Upstate Invitational, hosted by USC Upstate.

The meet begins with the women's 5K at 9 a.m., followed by the men's 8K at approximately 9:45 a.m. Both races will be held at Milliken Arboretum in Spartanburg, S.C. Live results will be available online.

Dudley Rounds Out Coaching Staff, Adds Patacsil and Gutierrez

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell wrestling head coach TJ Dudley has announced the addition of Jake Patacsil and Fabian Gutierrez as assistant coaches.

"I'm excited to officially welcome two outstanding individuals to our program," Dudley said. "Both are ready to work and fully committed to helping us build a culture defined by toughness, pride and a relentless pursuit of success."

Patacsil returns to the Campbell coaching staff, bringing extensive coaching experience after serving at multiple levels of college wrestling.

Patacsil was part of the Campbell program last season that captured a share of the 2024-25 Southern Conference regular season championship.

Cross Country Races at Dill Family Foundation Invitational

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The Campbell University cross country teams continued its 2025 campaign Friday morning, Oct. 3, at the Dill Family Foundation Invitational, formerly known as the ECU Pirate Invitational, at Overton's Lake Kristi.

The women's team finished fifth in the 6K with 102 points, led by junior Emelyn Lacour's 14th-place performance. The men's team placed sixth in the 8K with 141 points, paced by junior Andrew Barrett's 21st-place finish. In total, the Camels recorded 10 personal-best times, 11 collegiate race debuts and four marks that ranked among the program's all-time top 25.

Wrestling Releases 2025-26 Schedule

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell University wrestling and head coach TJ Dudley announced the program's 2025-26 schedule Wednesday, a slate that features four regular season home dates.

The Camels open the season with the Orange & Black Wrestle-Offs on Oct. 18 in Buies Creek before beginning a heavy road stretch. Campbell will begin the regular season at the Southeast Open in Roanoke, Va., on Nov. 2, followed by trips to George Mason on Nov. 8, the Throwdown on Yorktown II in Charleston, S.C., on Nov. 15, the Life Open on Nov. 22 and Northern Colorado on Dec. 19. The Camels close the 2025 calendar year with a visit to South Dakota State on Dec. 21.

Cross Country Competes at adidas XC Challenge

CARY, N.C. – The Campbell University cross country teams continued their 2025 season Friday night, Sept. 19, at the adidas XC Challenge at WakeMed Soccer Park.

The women's team placed ninth overall in the 5K with 272 points, led by junior Emily Pierce's 55th-place finish. The men's squad finished 10th in the 6K with 253 points, paced by freshman Isaiah Martine, who crossed 40th. Across both races, four Camels set personal bests and two made their collegiate debuts.

Cross Country Starts 2025 Season Strong Under The Lights at Elon XC Opener

ELON, N.C. – The Campbell University cross country teams opened the 2025 season with a strong showing at the Elon XC Opener on Friday night, Aug. 29, at Elon's cross country course. All 23 Campbell athletes who competed either made their Campbell debuts, set personal bests, or achieved both.

In the women's 4K, Campbell finished sixth overall with 145 points, tying High Point but falling to the Panthers on a tiebreaker. Four Camel runners placed inside the top 50, led by junior Emily Pierce, who finished seventh.

The men's squad placed eighth in the 6K with 161 points, again tying with UNCW but dropping on the tiebreaker. Four Campbell men also finished in the top 50, highlighted by freshman Isaiah Martine's 11th-place finish.

Athletes to Watch in Jeju: Kai Hayami

In August, Japan will make its seventh appearance at the 2025 World Lacrosse Men’s U20 Championship on Jeju Island, South Korea. The team tied its highest-ever finish in 2022, placing fifth, and has never finished lower than seventh in the tournament’s history. 


A player to watch for Japan is midfielder Kai Hayami.
