About Me

Hi, I’m Chase Strawser! I’m a sports media and communications professional with more than five years of experience across collegiate athletics, professional sports, and international events. Originally from Germantown, Maryland, I’m currently based in Raleigh, North Carolina.

I currently work as an Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at Meredith College while continuing to serve as an Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant at Campbell, where I am the primary media contact for Cross Country, Wrestling and Softball. Across both roles, I manage media relations, game-day operations, content production, digital communications and external communications.

My professional experience also includes serving as the Sport Statistics and Information Coordinator for the Carolina Blaze during the inaugural Athletes Unlimited Softball League season in Durham. In addition, I have completed internships with World Lacrosse and USA Lacrosse. I've even worked in fan experience and game presentation with the North Carolina Courage of the. 

My broadcasting experience spans a variety of sports. I’ve called more than 250 collegiate events, including the 2025 Pan-American Women’s Lacrosse Championship for World Lacrosse TV, the 2025 CAA Men’s Soccer Tournament on FloSports, and the 2026 USA South Women’s Lacrosse Tournament. I currently work as a freelance broadcaster for programs such as Davidson College and Longwood University.

I graduated Cum Laude from Elon University with a B.S. in Sport Management and a B.A. in Journalism, along with minors in Leadership Studies and Professional Writing Studies. I’m currently pursuing a Master of Science in Applied Leadership at Campbell University, concentrating in Data Analytics and Decision Making.

Whether I’m behind the microphone, writing a story, managing a press box, producing digital content, or working directly with athletes and fans, my goal is to tell compelling stories and bring my passion to every role.

Wrestling claims two titles, four podium finishes at Lucha Open

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell wrestling turned in a strong showing at the Lucha Open on Saturday, earning five top-four finishes, including two individual titles. Graduate student Logan Heil won the 133-pound bracket, while sophomore Pablo Macias captured the 157-pound title, as both finished the day 4-0.

Heil collected two decisions, a major decision and a tech fall on his path to the championship. His final came down to a 9-6 decision over conference foe Gardner-Webb's Leland Reeves. Macias opened his run with a first-period pin and added a tech fall before clutching a tie-breaker victory in the semifinals and a 4-3 decision in the title bout.

Graduate student Ryan Bolletino at 174 pounds and redshirt senior Conor Maslanek at 197 pounds each secured third-place finishes. Bolletino opened his day with a tech fall, added a decision and then prevailed in sudden victory to advance to the semifinals. Maslanek powered through the early rounds with back-to-back first-period pins and a dominant major decision before securing third place with a hard-fought 1-0 decision.

Sophomore Jonathan Chang rounded out Campbell's place-winners with a fourth-place finish at 149 pounds.

Overall, the Camels posted 21 wins across 33 individual matches in the Gold Division.

Wrestling continues early season slate at Lucha Open

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The 2025–26 Campbell wrestling season continues Saturday as the Fighting Camels travel to the Lucha Open, hosted by Life University. Ten Camels are slated to compete in the Gold Division across seven weight classes.

The event will be held at the Legacy Arena in Douglasville, Ga., beginning at 8 a.m. The tournament will stream live on FloWrestling, with brackets, live results and additional information also available.

Wrestling season and single match tickets on sale now

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell wrestling season and single match tickets for the 2025–26 campaign are on sale now.

Tickets can be purchased at GoCamels.com/Tickets or by calling the Athletics Ticket Office at 1-877-GO-HUMPS.

Season tickets include all six home matches and offer a value-packed opportunity for fans of the Orange and Black. General admission season tickets start at $35, while Campbell faculty and staff can purchase discounted season tickets beginning at $25. Mat side season ticket options start at $100.

General admission single match tickets start at $10. Faculty and staff can purchase discounted single match tickets beginning at $7. Mat side single match seating starts at $30.

Kids 12 and under receive free admission to all home events. Parking is free for all home events in the main lot behind Gore Arena.

Campbell opens its home schedule Jan. 17 with a SoCon dual against The Citadel. Other notable matchups include in-state opponents Gardner-Webb on Jan. 23 and Appalachian State on Jan. 30.

All home matches will be held in Gore Arena except for the Feb. 8 home finale against Chattanooga.

Wrestling earns first conference win, two Camels notch ranked upsets

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Campbell wrestling team earned its first conference win of the 2025–26 season Saturday at the second annual Throwdown on the Yorktown in Mount Pleasant, S.C. The Camels also faced Lander and Penn, falling in both duals.

Campbell opened the day with a 32-6 loss to Lander, who entered ranked No. 2 in the NWCA Division II preseason poll. Graduate student Logan Heil delivered the Camels' first win with a 10-6 decision at 133 pounds, and sophomore Pablo Macias added an 8-6 decision at 157.

Cross Country conclude season at NCAA Southeast Regional

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. – The Campbell University men's and women's cross country programs closed the 2025 season Friday at the NCAA Division I Southeast Regional Championships, hosted by the University of Virginia at Panorama Farms.

The trip marked Campbell's first appearance at the NCAA Southeast Regional since 2022, when Dorcus Ewoi placed 23rd overall. It was also the program's first regional showing since joining the CAA and the first appearance by a men's runner since 2021.

Cross Country heads to NCAA Southeast Regional

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Six Campbell University cross country athletes will compete at the 2025 NCAA Division I Southeast Regional Championships on Friday, Nov. 14, hosted by the University of Virginia.

The meet begins with the women's 6K at 10 a.m., followed by the men's 10K at approximately 11 a.m. Both races will take place at Panorama Farms in Charlottesville, Virginia. Parking passes are $20 and must be purchased online in advance. Live results will be available online.

Campbell wraps up Mason Duals, earns first victory of the season

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Campbell wrestling team earned its first victory of the 2025–26 season Saturday at the Mason Duals in Fairfax, Va., defeating Williams College 28-14. The Camels also faced the host, George Mason, and Bloomsburg, falling in both duals.

Redshirt freshman Colby Crouch, sophomores Ryan Phillips and Kendrick Hodge, and redshirt senior Conor Maslanek each notched two wins on the day to lead the Camels.

Wrestling prepared to face George Mason, Williams, and Bloomsburg at Mason Duals

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell wrestling heads back to Virginia for the second straight weekend on Saturday morning as the Fighting Camels compete in a quad meet at the Mason Duals, hosted by George Mason.

Campbell will face three programs, beginning with the host Patriots at 9 a.m. on Mat 1. The Camels will take on Williams College at 10:30 a.m., also on Mat 1, before wrapping up the day against Bloomsburg University at 1:30 p.m. on Mat 2.

The duals will be held at the George Mason Field House in Fairfax, Virginia. Action begins at 9 a.m. and will stream live on George Mason All-Access.

Crouch Wins 125-Pound Title as Five Camels Place at Southeast Open

SALEM, Va. – In Campbell wrestling's season-opening tournament, redshirt freshman Colby Crouch had a steller collegiate debut and claimed first place in the 125-pound division at the Southeast Open on Nov. 2.

Crouch's title highlighted a successful opener for the Fighting Camels, who saw five wrestlers place in the freshman/sophomore division at the event hosted by Virginia Tech at the Cregger Center.

Crouch went 4-0 on the day, earning three decisions and one technical fall to secure the 125-pound championship.

Four other Camels finished in the top six of their respective divisions. Sophomore Jonathan Chang advanced to the semifinals with three straight decision wins before dropping his final two matchups by major decision to place fourth at 149 pounds.

Sophomores Ryan Phillips and Kendrick Hodge battled through the consolation bracket to earn fifth-place finishes in their divisions. Sophomore Sawyer VanRider rounded out the group of Campbell place-winners, finishing sixth at 197 pounds.

Overall, 18 Camels made their season debuts, combining for 38 victories across 70 matches.
